Freshwater group portrait of Microorganisms - by Wim van Egmond, The Netherlands

  These are the freshwater windows of the art work in the Natuurmuseum in Rotterdam. Most obvious is the long filamentous algae Spirogyra. You can also see a hydra trying to catch a waterflea. Several species of desmids, diatoms and rotifers show the variey of forms in these groups.
