The original photograph of starch grains in a potato tuber (shown below) was taken using a Minolta X300s body on a monocular microscope with x10 eyepiece and x10 objective lens, in natural light.

 With some of my photomicrographs put onto Photo CD ROM and having installed Micrografx software, (Picture Publisher v 3.1), I decided to experiment. The final image is the result of these trial and error efforts; it was achieved by using the rectangular-polar special effects filter and then experimenting with the Hue/Saturation option.
