I caught with a close-up lens on my 35mm camera, f4, about 1/200sec., hand-held. This is a Deptford pink (Dianthus armeria) of the family Caryophyllaceae. The petals are about 5mm long. Note the distinct white dots on each petal. This was growing in a sunny field in the Shenandoah mountains of Virginia. I caught sight of it while "just walking along".
