As I trundled back and forth across the wheat with the "macrotome" (alias combine harvester!) I was amazed to smell mint - quite strongly, too. Beneath the wheat was a patch of mint about 25 yards square. Cutting some and thrashing it through the combine produced a very strong smell of mint, as you can imagine! Later I took Holly dog for her walk and looked at the mint, which is in bloom with gorgeous tiny flowers.
