Philodina rosea is a common bdelloid rotifer found in bird baths and other small waters. Many of these bdelloids rotifers lack sexual reproduction. It has the typical crown of cilia (corona) that gave rotifers their name. Near the two eyespots can also be seen the mastax, a jaw-like device for grinding food particles.
