One great place on a rainy day is the Cabinet War Rooms (photo above) in the heart of Whitehall. it was from here that Winston Churchill planned the UKs second world war effort. It remains the same today as in the 1940s, underground, to avoid the Blitz of London in the 40s and the rain today!
Two of the world's finest and oldest museums are also in London: the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum. If a day really turns bad on the weather front, catch a tube (underground), and make your way over to South Kensington to visit these great places. Both are suitable for the whole family!
Madam Tussauds will be loved by all the family and if you get a combined ticket (recommended) to the planetarium, you will spend the best part of a rainy afternoon enthralled and delighted!
