| The Human Tissues CDrom is designed to work with a PC (sorry - no MAC version yet). All you need is a CDrom drive
and a modern Browser : Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or Netscape Navigator 4.0 or later browsers. The
56 minute video film is a complete visual exploration of human tissue sections under a microscopic, with audio
voice-over by an expert in tissue identification and study. To reinforce and strengthen the learning process, the
CDrom also contains 500 full colour images which are viewed in sections related to the film. All still image displays
are again accompanied by the informed voice of the lecturer. Each section can be linked to other local computer
or network resources - such as student notes - and brought to the screen at the click of a button! The CD presentation is run completely on the CD drive: no hard disk resources are required or used! Perhaps you would like to see an on-line demonstration of the start up screen, one of the sections from the CD, and a small section from the video? Better still... why not Hold down the SHIFT KEY and click here-> to download a sample demo approx. 2 meg. |

The movie file is in AVI file. The codec used was Intel Indeo's 3.2 AVI codec. All subsequent indeo decoders
are able to play these avi movies fine. The codec comes with windows and most users should have no problems playing
the video. MAC users are unable to play avi files.
Will it work on a MAC?
Sorry, no! Parts of the cdrom will probably run fine but not the movie! See above!
Will it work with Netscape 3.0
We found that Netscape 3.0 had problems playing the very large video file. The CDrom can be used with Netscape 3.0 but the only way to play the video is by using Windows Media Player to open the avi file directly. Netscape 4.0 and Explorer 4.0 play the movie file well!
What Windows operating system does it run under?
The cdrom will work fine with all version of Windows after 3.1 - so Win95, Win98, WinNT are the right operating systems.
Supposing I order it and it doesn't work?
You can see if it will work by taking a test drive of the on-line Demo. The demo will be a fairly slowed down example because of the problems passing large files to you from the Internet... but it should give you a good idea and feel for the cdrom. If you buy one, and for some unlikely reason it doesn't work - we will replace it or refund your money if you let us know within 30 days and return the cdrom - (we ask you to contact us first so we can just see if there is a problem we can help to overcome to get it running for you).
If I order more than one - do I get discounts?
Sure! Talk to us about it by email and we will arrange reductions depending on circumstances
and the number of CDs ordered.
Why CDrom and not Video Tape?
We put the video on CDrom instead of video tape because: it is more durable, defeats
the problem of different video broadcast protocols in different countries (PAL, NSTC, etc), and because we can
build in a lot more functionality and user interaction. Also, quality of the product does not reduce in time. A
CD is lighter to send in the post and more likely to survive the journey!
