Download
links are below - please read this note
first. Thanks.
Please note that the
downloadable current issue is usually
available up to 7 days after a new issue
goes online. The Micscape Ed likes a break from
admin :)!
Please extract
each downloaded zip file to your local PC c:\
root directory. Files will be unzipped to an
existing c:\miscapemagazine directory or will
be created if a first time download.
Also
if downloading multiple zip files, please unzip
the most recent issue last to ensure the latest
indexes are saved.
If
any problems are spotted in zip files please
let David Walker know.
Please
note that the downloadable issues below are
created about a week after first publication.
Articles may be later updated, occasionally
extensively in the online version. This mainly
applies to more detailed technical or historical
articles. Please check the website to see if
there's a more recent version before contacting
an author on aspects of such an article. Thank
you.

Help on these Downloads
(
please read before downloading
)
On
occasional months there
may be a separate optional zip download. The first one remains the same
and is essentially a zipped version of Micscape Magazine. The second
download is for those who have downloaded the trial version of
Microscope,
available here!
More details about this software is
here!
Microscope for the PC users must
download the slides in their respective order: set001, set002, etc in
order for them to update the shareware version of the microscope. You
cannot simply download the most recent
set!
(If you prefer not
to wait for each month to get the next slideset, please purchase a
registered version and you will receive the full 50 slidesets ready to
view in the Pro download version.
)
The
registered version is simply this trial version with around 50 slidesets
installed ready for use. I thought it would be a nice idea to reward
subscribers by making the microscope software, including all slidesets
available to them for free! The registered version is 20 dollars. Each
month, I will zip up one or more slidesets as an set{nnn}.zip file which -
when run - will install the new slides into the microscope package on your
pc. (nnn = a number from 001 to 050).
You will need to download the microscope software first. It may not work
on all pcs as it was designed for DOS and early windows. I have embedded a
shareware DOS emulator into the revised software to make it run in Windows
XP on most pcs.

As an aside: I do
other work on the internet and as a result of this I have tried out 100's
of different software packages, shareware and professional package trials.
If you are thinking of buying software and want to know if it is any good,
you can always drop me a line and ask me if I have used it.
