Streaming Multimedia files We currently use Vivo Active Streaming technology, Real Media, and Windows Media Player to show video and sound streaming content. FM quality sound is achievable and lower quality video can be downloaded and played quickly.This allows you to see a low quality video without having to wait for the file to completely download. You can often use the experience to determine if you will take the time needed to download and play a higher quality AVI video of the subject. You may need the free Streaming Player from the Vivo Web site to view a few of these files! At least one version of the VIVO player is FREE!

Windows Media Player can be obtained at the Microsoft Web Site.

Sound files and Voice-only files

Sound files can be big, very big! Where we tend to use a lot of sound files, we use a special piece of software, made by REALAUDIO, to compress these files to a smaller size. The magic of REALAUDIO is that it will help you fetch these files and play them without having to hang around for long. You need the REALAUDIO Player application (plug-in or helper) to hear these sounds. The sections of our site which benefit most from using REALAUDIO are the pages accessed through the INDEX definitions: RADIO, and ADVENTURES.

Videos - DRIVERS At the moment, our videos are delivered as AVI files over the web. We use special INTEL AVI drivers to optimize speed and quality. You may already have a set of drivers installed on your PC. To see our AVI movies you may need INTEL's AVI drivers , VERSION 5 OR LATER, which combine version 3.1 and version 4.0 into one complete set of drivers. You will need to visit the Intel Web site to select the right set of drivers for your current PC platform, for example: Windows 3.x or Windows95.

Browsers - Netscape & Explorer Browsers have improved remarkably in the two years. We provide Web Content which can be accessed by a wide range of browsers, but to see our material to full advantage you need at least Netscape Navigator 3.0 (or higher) or Microsoft's Internet Explorer Version 3.0a or higher. We would recommend you use Explorer Version 4.0 or higher as your normal default web browser.

Our pages are best seen with Browsers which support Javascript. You must ensure the Javascript setting in your Browser is enabled (on!).
