Cosmarium, Staurastrum, Closterium, Xanthidium, Euastrum, Micrasterias;
the names of the genera are almost as beautiful as the algae themselves.
Micrasterias is especially spectacular for the microscopist.
A beautiful form, nice flat cells, easy to photograph and often in the
process of division.
